This year one of our PhD students in geochemistry Matylda Hermanska got the AGU poster award in the Volcanology, Geochemistry and Petrology section -  http://ospa.agu.org/ospa/2014-fall-meeting-ospa-winners/

The poster title is: Geochemistry of Multicomponent Fluid Phases in the Krafla High-Enthalpy Geothermal System, NE Iceland (Matylda Hermanska and Andri Stefánsson)

This poster presents results from Matylda’s PhD project on heat, fluid and mass transfer in volcanic geothermal systems and focus on groundwater-magma interaction at shallow depth in the crust and formation of high-temperature contact metamorphism.  The work is a part  of the COTHERM network involving Icelandic and Swiss scientists and students.
