On Monday the 3rd of November Hrafnhildur Hannesdóttir will defend her Ph.D thesis in geology.

The thesis is titled: Variations of southeast Vatnajökull - past, present and future.
The defence will take place in the Aula at the University Main building, and starts at 09:00.

Opponents are dr. Per Holmlund, professor at Stockholm University and dr. Astrid Ogilvie, Research Scholar at INSTAAR (Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research), Colorado, USA.

The supervisor is dr. Guðfinna Aðalgeirsdóttir, associate professor at the Faculty of Earth Sciences. The doctoral committee also includes dr. Helgi Björnsson, professor emeritus at the Institute of Earth Sciences at the University of Iceland, and dr. Jón Eiríksson, professor at the Institute of Earth Sciences at the University of Iceland.

The ceremony will be chaired by dr. Þorvaldur Þórðarson, Professor and head of the Faculty of Earth Sciences.
