We are very excited to have a special visitor from Germany this week:
Martin Hensch (now at Regierungspräsidium Freiburg, Geological Survey of Baden-Württemberg (LED-BW); formerly at the Icelandic Meteorological Office and the Institute of Earth Sciences) will give a talk about
"Deep low-frequency earthquakes reveal ongoing magmatic recharge beneath Laacher See Volcano (Eifel, Germany)"
The presentation will take place at 12:00 Wednesday May 29 in the meeting room on the 3rd floor of Askja.

This subject is of particular interest for its implications for volcanism in mainland Europe, as well as for some similarities to deep low-frequency earthquake swarms in Iceland.
